Haunted Harvest Multicultural Committee Dinner

On October 17th, 2025, from 6 to 9 p.m. the RHS Parent Multicultural Committee is holding a spooky celebration featuring Halloween traditions from various cultures. Share your favorite festive foods and ghost stories from different countries at the event, which is held at a private residence.

The committee is a parent-led group dedicated to celebrating diversity and fostering connections among Radnor families.

Attendees are encouraged to bring an appetizer, dessert, main dish, or beverage that reflects their heritage or simply a favorite dish to share—but if cooking isn’t your thing, you’re still warmly welcome!

Grants awarded

At its meeting on September 24, the RHS PTO voted to support two grants:

-  help purchase new books for school libraries to educate about the implementation of the new integrated Science, Technology & Engineering, Environmental Literacy and Sustainability (STEELS) standards.

- to purchase supplies to make casseroles to benefit St. John’s Hospice, a nationally recognized residential and day services provider located in Center City. RHS will hold two, two-hour casserole making programs for students during the MLK day of service and during another spring date.

How you can support the PTO

Fundraising is a vital part of how we support our school community. Our PTO Family Sponsorship Campaign is the largest fundraiser of the year and helps fund a wide range of activities and initiatives that benefit both staff and students throughout the year.

All donations are tax-deductible, and many employers offer matching gift programs, which can double your impact. Thank you for your continued support!

What are REF and RHSSF?
Radnor Educational Foundation

REF is a 501c(3) organization that provides RTSD students with an enriched curriculum and innovative programs including innovative curricula, outside engaging speakers, services to enhance and expand students’ skills, and an environment that offers safe, practical, age-appropriate equipment/tools/devices.

Projects may be proposed by students, teachers, community members, a school staff member, or parent in collaboration with a Radnor teacher or principal. The Foundation provides grants which can be combined with funds from other sources. The aim is to supplement, but not replace, the regular school district funding.

REF has a winter and spring grant cycle.

In 2024-2025, the Foundation granted more than $85,000 across Radnor public schools, benefiting 10,755 students.

Radnor High School Scholarship Fund

RHSSF was founded in 1966 to provide financial aid to deserving graduates of RHS for post-high school education.

It currently averages needs-based awards to 25 deserving seniors of $2,000 per year for four years.

Recipients attend a wide range of educational institutions including major universities, community colleges, and schools specializing in music, art, culinary training – all representing the philosophy of RHSSF:

Further education in any field of choice can only make the future brighter for a young person and contribute to a stronger, more-informed community.

Scholarship Applications for the Class of 2026 will be available in December. The submission deadline is Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.

Every year Radnor High School partners with Friesland School, a performing arts school in Nottingham, England.

Each year, Friesland students and faculty visit Radnor to take part in LM Week festivities. We need host families!

  • Friesland Students visit RHS during LM week (10/29-11/5).  Transportation from the airport will be arranged by the school.  You will meet and pick up your guest in the RHS cafeteria.
  • Your visitor will spend the whole week with you and your family. On regular school days, your visitor will be attending classes with you. There will also be a planned schedule that will include a few group activities. Remember they are coming during LM week, so the time goes by very quickly.
  • There is a group field trip to Washington, D.C. (arranged by the school)
  • On the day of your guest’s departure (11/5), transportation to the airport will be arranged by the school. You would just need to make sure your guest, and all his/her luggage is dropped off at RHS.

We know this is a busy time of year but having served as hosts, we can honestly say the experience was rewarding for our whole families.

Email Jessica.Verguldi-Scott@rtsd.org or Alexis.Swinehart@rtsd.org before October 8 to volunteer!
