BACK TO SCHOOL PICNIC Join us Friday, September 6, 5-7PM on the WES fields and the Secondary Playground to kick off the new school year. There will also be a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Secondary Playground! Bring a picnic dinner or purchase pizza and drinks when you arrive. Soft pretzels and water ice are free. FIRST PTO MEETING Our first meeting of the 2019-20 school year will be Monday, September 16, 7PM in the WES Little Theater. Please join us to hear what's to come this fall and how you can volunteer! ATTENTION 5TH GRADE PARENTS The 5th Grade Committee has started planning activities for the class of 2020’s last year at WES - but we need your help! If you have interest in helping out with Field Day, Movie Night, Class Party, Bowling Party or the class yearbook contact Heather Gill, Amber Swindells or Megan Talone at WES 5th Grade Committee. SAVE THE DATE - Field Day will be held Friday, October 11. More information about this year’s activities will be sent home with your 5th grader or click on the 5th Grade Committee Webpage. JOIN THE CUTLURAL ARTS COMMITTEE The Cultural Arts Committee has an exciting year of programs planned including several schoolwide assemblies, a grade-specific performance for each grade, an author/illustrator visit, and a dance workshop. The club meets every Friday mornings from October 11-May 8 from 8:15-9:05AM in the library conference room. We write about WES Happenings, WES People, and all the cool things WES kids are interested in -- books, dance & the arts, travel, movies, gaming, sports. It's written by students, for students - WES Happenings, WES People, and all the cool things WES kids are interested in. The WES Buzz can take 12 roving reporters. BOOK FAIR IS COMING! Mark your calendar! The Book Fair will kick off on Sunday, October 20 and continue to Friday, October 25. RADNOR SWAG - RADNOR SCHOOL DISTRICT SPIRIT WEAR ON SALE The PTOs have come together to offer selections of new spirit wear for youth and adults. Get ready for a new school year and our DW Radnor Spirit Day on Friday, October 11here! RADNOR EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION CELEBRATES 25 YEARS! Did you know The Radnor Education Foundation (REF) turns 25 this year? In celebration of this momentous anniversary, REF is hosting a 25th Anniversary Jubilee fundraiser at Pomme in Radnor on February 8. Planning is already underway but we are looking for a few more people to serve on the volunteer event committee to help make this truly an event to remember! Only have a few hours to volunteer? No need to worry, we have volunteer assignments that vary from prepping invitations, to soliciting donations to, day-of set up. Join us for our kickoff meeting on Tuesday, September 24. ART GOES TO SCHOOL OF DELAWARE VALLEY Our elementary school PTOs are working in partnership with the Radnor Chapter of Art Goes to School of Delaware Valley (AGTS-DV). This is a non-profit volunteer organization, which brings art appreciation classes to elementary school children. Become an AGTS volunteer at Radnor, Ithan or Wayne Elementary School! We are looking for current RTSD elementary and alumni parents who enjoy volunteering in the classroom and are keen to inspire our students with their interest in art. You do not need to be a teacher or an artist; the AGTS Radnor Chapter offers fun and informal training to all classroom presenters. How about joining us for 2019-20? See details on the Radnor, Ithan and Wayne Elementary School PTO websites. 3RD ANNUAL SOUTH WAYNE PORCHFEST The streets of South Wayne will once again be “alive with the sound of music†on Saturday, September 14, 11:30AM-5PM for the annual South Wayne PorchFest. The event features more than 60 varied musical acts performing on porches throughout five residential blocks. Visitors will hear everything from solo acoustic to a large funk/rock ensemble, from gospel to marching bands, from bluegrass to show tunes. South Wayne PorchFest is a FREE, family-friendly day of music, open to the general public. Details. THANK YOU... The PTO succeeds because of the commitment of our parents.
