Baby Pictures of 8th Graders Due Tomorrow (2/4)

Please email a baby photo of your 8th Grader (you might want to get their sign-off first!) to Mr. Achenbach by tomorrow.  If you need more time, please be sure to reach out to him ASAP so he can keep moving on the yearbook.

Urge Your Graphic Designer to Submit for the 8th Grade T-shirt Design Contest

The deadline for submissions from 8th Graders to create a logo or design for their T-shirts has been extended until February 18.  Be sure to encourage your artist or creative thinker to submit a design to RMS PTO mailbox (PDF or JPEG formats are great), and the submissions will be judged by RMS Staff.

The design can be front-only or front and back.

8th Grade Lawn Sign Survey

If you have not already, please click here to complete the VERY quick survey (1 question) about interest in purchasing Lawn Signs to celebrate your 8th Grader's move-up to RHS.

Lawn signs were first introduced in 2020 as the 8th graders completed their final months at RMS from home due to the pandemic, and the PTO would like to know if there is still sufficient interest in lawn signs given the change in circumstances.

PTO General Meeting - Morning Session

Please join the PTO for the General Meeting on February 7 at 10:30 am.  This special session enables parents who may not have availability in the evenings to attend a PTO meeting - ALL are welcome, and it will be held virtually via ZOOM

Please reach out to the PTO with any questions.

The PTO Family Sponsorship Campaign (FSC) takeover to support the Performing Arts at RMS is live until February 13.  You can donate via the PayPal QR Code on the PTO Webpage here.

Be Sure to SpeakUp!

RMS will host a SpeakUp! session on February 15 at 6:30 pm. The program is currently scheduled to be live at RMS, but stay tuned for a final call.

SpeakUp! is a regional program geared towards middle and high school ages. The program consists of small groups with conversations, facilitated by SpeakUp! or RMS faculty, on various topics.  This year's topics were voted on by student leaders and will include:  race & racism, mental health, and family relationships.

You can register here.

PTO Openings for 2022-2023 School Year

It was not always easy being a parent of a middle-schooler before the C-word, P-word and M-word entered our daily vocabulary (COVID, pandemic and mask – what were you thinking?). Without question, parent engagement will be just as important next year! The RMS PTO has continued to support the RMS Community this year through some much-needed normalcy for the students including events like the 6th Grade WEB social, cultural arts assembly, Back-to-School Ice Cream Social and December’s STEM Night.

The Nominating Committee is accepting names of parents interested in participating in next year’s RMS PTO in Officer roles & members of our next Board of Directors. (Later this spring, we will put out a call for Committee Chairs.) Do you know someone who would make an outstanding Board Member? Or VP of Committees? Or Secretary? Or even President? Might that person, be you? Whether you are nominating someone else or yourself, please complete the 2022-2023 RMS PTO Nomination Form by March 1 to nominate yourself or someone else for an office or the Board of Directors. Check out our RMS PTO website > About the PTO  to learn more about Officer role descriptions.

Thank you...

Multicultural Committee (Kate Sanderson and Veronica Bay) for hosting a RHS PTO MC informal gathering and supporting the RMS International Week.
